The British Berkefeld® is the Original Gravity Water Filter System with a history dating back to the 1800's. It is designed for use in situations where a reliable supply of treated drinking water
is unavailable and is known as the water filter of choice by missionaries and relief agencies around the world. Unbelievable as it sounds you can actually pour creek water in this filter and
a short time later have clean, good tasting water. How? The pore structure of the ceramic filters inside is designed to remove very fine particles and bacteria. Can be used camping or
where there is no municipally treated water. The gravity feed system also works when water pressure is too low for other filters.
Takes minutes to assemble and can provide up to 24 gallons of safe drinking water each day. Constructed of high grade, polished stainless steel making it hygienic, durable and easy to clean. The two piece housing is portable and can be
used virtually anywhere, anytime. The upper chamber is filled with water which gravity feeds through the filters into the lower chamber. An easy to turn On-Off spigot is used as the
outflow tap. The "Super Sterasyl" filters reduce up to 99.99% of particulates, cysts, parasites and pathogenic bacteria including but not limited to E. Coli, Cryptosporidium, Giardia and
Salmonella Typhi. Additionally, these filters will reduce chlorine, rust, sediment and organic chemicals. With filtration rating efficiencies of
>98% down to 0.2 microns (Spectrum Labs)
>99.9% at 0.5 microns
>99.99% at 0.9 microns
this is one powerful filter system. The durable ceramic filters can be cleaned over and over with a soft brush or Scotch Brite pad and
the filter media in this product contains pure silver, an effective antimicrobial (bacteriostatic) agent. The British Berkefeld system uses four filters, which means that the system
filters between 10,000 to 60,000 gallons before filter elements need to be replaced. Each filter element will provide efficient pathogenic filtration from 2,600 gallons to 15,000 gallons depending on
turbidity of water and care taken of filter elements. Detailed easy to assemble and operating instructions are included.
